All in the family. This is my Nephew Taso's 240. Basically
stock and original except for the ground effects,
spoiler and 280ZX wheels. Beauty aye?

First "Performance" Vehicle
Yeah, even at 5 I was hell on wheels. This baby has a 0-60 in the low fives and hugged
the twisties like you wouldn't believe. Custom wheels, sport steering wheel,
small rear end, posi, rack and pinion and low profile tires. Ate Huffy
and Sears tricycles for breakfast. 0.261 REAR WHEEL HP!

The 1962 MGA
This was taken in winter 1972 by a girlfriend.  The MGA, unusual for
it's time, had aluminum body parts (they dented real easy) and plywood
floors.  It was surprisingly light weight.  It also had a push button on the
dash for the starter (the 12 volt battery cables actually came in through the
fire wall!) and a real oil pressure gage in the dash.  That was fun when the
copper line broke off behind the dash.  Those are wire wheels front and
rear and massive L/60/15 tires on the back. Nice pants!
The 1965 MGB
Taken by another girlfriend around 1973.  There was about
40 pounds of Bondo in the hood.  The unusual front end is
what came to be known as the "California Custom" front
end.  I don't know why.   It's a cut down '59 Rambler grill
and a flattened '60 Volkswagen Beetle bumper.  Groovy!
 
Our garage with the '62 MGA ripped
apart.  Also visible is the Triumph TR3.  The MG engine was a rare
18GB series which had 5 mains.  I had it bored to accommodate
0.080" over size chrome sleeves, 12.8:1 pistons, big cam,
header and eventually 4 Weber side draft carbs.
 
 
Another soldier
marches dutifully into war.  I sent countless many to their
death.  If I recall correctly, this particular engine had been
blown twice and rebuilt.  Mostly busted rods.  The third
and final time, a rod went through the case, took out the
cam and cracked the head in half as well.  Semper fi.
 

The '67 GTO
My first 'Murican muscle car.  I forget what engine (big block)
but I had an Edlebrock high-rise with a Holly 850 double
pumper perched on top and some kind of big cam.  Oddly
enough, I had found a used Corvette 4 speed that fit but
it was geared too high.  To compensate I put a small
gear on the rear end.  That turned out to be a winning
combination.  Think the lapels are big enough on that shirt?
 
 
The '73(?) Charger
The only photo I have of it.  A kid with no brakes on a bike ran into the right
front fender exactly where you see it.  We could not see each other because
that H&R sign blocked our view.  He had minor injuries.  I only had some
scratches on the fender.  I took the photo in case of a law suit in which case
I would be forced to counter sue H&R for the dagerous placement of the sign.

Studibaker of Canada.  Drove
it to school every day in my
Sophomore year.  Motorcycle
insurance for it was $47 annual!
Was a very popular "party wagon"
in 1969.

The Honda ATC
early '80s (before they were hobbled by a 'fourth wheel').
That's a friend's dog (Sally) in my lap.  Half Pek, Half Cocker.
Sweetest little pooch on the planet.  She just LOVED riding on the ATC!
She once fell off at high speed and went under the back tire.  I thought she
was dead for sure.  But when I stopped, she came running with her tail wagging
like crazy and jumped right back on!  She thought it was a blast!

The "Atlantic Fury"
The Engine Room.  I am at the throttle of just about the
biggest 'vehicle' I have ever 'driven'.  About 1975.  And about
20 feet below the water line.  This was a 450 ton Merchant Marine
freighter (it's a long, long story).  I am standing at the back of a
5 cylinder diesel that is 2 stories high.  The pistons were about
4 feet in diameter.  I am leaning on what could be equated
to a "bell housing" where the drive shaft passes under
the floor plates to the propeller.
(Dig that analog dashboard.  It's even got a clock!)

That's my Dad!  And no, his hand isn't
missing.  I think this was a 1960 Chevy Biscane.
The lifter thingys and push rod doohickys
got like all hot n bent when we were out west
somewhere on vacation.  So we all actually sat
in the car in a driving rain as it was towed to a
garage for repair.  I took the picture from the
back seat with a Kodak Brownie believe it
or not.  My Dad still has the Brownie!
